Caringo Honored for its Secondary Storage Platform (MESA)
Story Highlights
Caringo announced that Caringo FileFly 2.0 Secondary Storage Platform has received the Silver Award in TechTarget’s Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com 2017 Products of the Year Data Management Tools category. The company’s prior nominations have included their masthead Swarm product honored in 2012 and 2014, the original FileFly™ for Swarm in 2015 and SwarmNFS in 2016.
“We are pleased to have FileFly 2.0 Secondary Storage Platform recognized as providing a top data management product of the year,” said Adrian Herrera, VP Marketing of Caringo. “Fulfilling the need for sophisticated but easy-to-use capabilities, bridging the gap between file and object, is at the forefront of our priorities as we continue to work with our customers to solve their data management challenges.”
FileFly 2.0 enables organizations to scale storage to multiple petabytes and trillions of files, optimize filers, and consolidate files across multiple locations—all while driving down total cost of ownership and acquisition. It allows organizations to take advantage of today’s cloud-like storage infrastructure with no changes to applications or end-user file access.
Finalists were judged by a panel comprised of a cross-section of users, analysts, consultants and Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com editors. The products are rated according to their innovation, performance, ease of integration, ease of use, functionality and value. Results have been published online and will also be featured in the February issue of Storage magazine.
Rodney Brown, TechTarget Senior Site Editor, reported in his article on the win that one judge called the Caringo FileFly 2.0 appliance an “excellent solution and innovative approach to increasing adoption of object storage” and that another judge said Caringo FileFly Secondary Storage Platform is a “good Swiss army knife solution for integrating file and object in a unified, policy-managed repository.”
