Amazon Web Services’ Carlson Appointed to White House Historical Association Board of Directors (MESA)

The White House Historical Association has appointed Teresa Carlson to its Board of Directors. Carlson brings to the Association decades of experience as a global leader in the technology sector. Under her leadership as VP of Amazon Web Services Worldwide Public Sector, which she founded in 2010, Carlson has partnered with the Association to bring rich historical content into the 21st century. Among other collaborative efforts, AWS powers the Association’s Digital Library, a collection of rare historical photographs and documents; and its White House Experience mobile app, which allows users to take a virtual tour of the White House.
Throughout her career, Carlson has enabled public sector organizations worldwide to better achieve their missions through technology. She is an equally strong advocate to build a diverse technology workforce that is inclusive of women and other underrepresented communities.
Prior to joining AWS, Carlson was the Vice President of Microsoft Federal Government, where she oversaw Microsoft’s business with the Federal Government.
Carlson has received numerous awards for her achievements and holds philanthropic and leadership roles within the global community. Among other honors, Carlson has been named among Washingtonian’s “100 Most Powerful Women” and inducted into the 2018 Wash100. Carlson also serves on the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children Board of Directors and the Chairman’s Advisory Council for the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region, among other philanthropic efforts.
