NAB 2019: HOOQ Chooses BeBanjo for Managing Schedules, Rights, Metadata (MESA)

HOOQ, Asia’s first premium subscription VOD service, backed by Warner Bros, Sony Pictures and Singtel, has chosen BeBanjo to streamline its VOD operation, the companies announced ahead of the NAB Show. HOOQ has selected BeBanjo’s product suite, with Movida at its heart, to manage efficiently a large catalogue of premium film and TV content. With BeBanjo’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products, HOOQ creates and updates — centrally — schedules and rights for distribution across multiple services and territories: Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, India and Indonesia. Metadata, including editorial metadata in multiple languages and images, is also stored and validated by BeBanjo’s products.

Direct integration with HOOQ’s own OTT platform, ensures that editorial decisions are reflected on HOOQ’s consumer services within minutes.

The solution delivered, as part of a transformation project, replaces spreadsheets, bespoke systems and manual processes. The BeBanjo SaaS products provide tight control and visibility of HOOQ’s operations, making it easy for HOOQ’s teams to answer questions such as: “What images am I missing and what synopses need translating, for delivery of next month’ schedule?” or “What comedy content do I have rights for, for exploitation in Q3 2019?”. The solution enables real-time collaboration between different scheduling and localisation teams at HOOQ, across multiple countries.

“We’re proud to be part of HOOQ’s ambitious plans for a best-of-breed technology platform. The solution delivered – in close collaboration with HOOQ’s teams – brings new efficiencies to HOOQ’s operations,” said BeBanjo CEO François Chabat.

BeBanjo will be exhibiting at NAB at booth N6517. For more information, click here.
