TiVo Lands Armstrong Cable Deal (MESA)

TiVo April 29 announced a second customer for its Next-Gen Platform for TV and streaming services, with East Coast cable operator Armstrong utilizing the service to transition to IPTV, deploying TiVo’s cloud-based suite of solutions for VOD, linear and DVR content delivery.

Cabler RCN was the first to employ TiVo’s new Next-Gen Platform service earlier in April.

“TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform enables Armstrong to demonstrate market leadership by bringing trailblazing innovations and must-have features to its customers,” said Jeffrey Glahn, VP of sales for TiVo. “We are pleased that Armstrong has chosen TiVo as its trusted partner in the transition to IPTV and we look forward to bringing this robust solution to additional operators in the future.”

TiVo’s platform aims to speed and simplify access to traditional TV and streaming content on every screen via personalization and voice control, and is available for both managed and unmanaged set-tops, as well as mobile and web devices.

Armstrong — which operates in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland — had previously partnered with TiVo in late 2018, offering voice-activated remote control functionality to its subscribers.

“We are thrilled to be working with TiVo on our next generation video platform,” said Armstrong president Jeff Ross. “Our business is built on continued innovation, and TiVo’s industry-leading solutions enable us to deliver superior entertainment experiences that our customers deserve.”
