Akamai Elects Marianne Brown to Board of Directors (MESA)

Akamai announced the appointment of Marianne Brown to the Akamai Board of Directors effective March 13, 2020. “Marianne is an experienced CEO, COO and board member, and we are fortunate to add her to our board of directors,” said Dr. Tom Leighton, chief executive officer of Akamai. “We look forward to benefiting from her extensive financial, operational and leadership expertise, her diverse perspectives, and her valuable experience with large, global technology-driven companies.”

Ms. Brown joined the board of directors of VMware, Inc. in 2019 and has been a member of the Northrop Grumman Corporation board since 2015. Her well-rounded career includes serving as corporate executive vice president and co-chief operating officer, global financial solutions segment of Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (FIS). Prior to that, Ms. Brown was chief operating officer of the institutional and wholesale business of FIS. FIS acquired SunGard Financial Systems LLC, where she had served as chief operating officer. From 2006 to 2014, Ms. Brown was president and chief executive officer of Omgeo, and from 2005 to 2006 she was chief executive officer of the Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC). Prior to joining SIAC, Ms. Brown spent 26 years with Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), in various positions of increasing responsibility in areas including customer service, account management and sales, operations, technology, and development.

Ms. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in business administration from Concordia College.
