OpSec Names New Group General Counsel, Chief Software Development Officer

OpSec Security has announced a pair of new hires: Najaf Gillani as OpSec Security’s Chief Software Development Officer, and David Haenel, Group General Counsel.

Najaf Gillani has over 20 years of experience running Global Software Engineering teams working for eCommerce giants like eBay, Walmart, & technology disruptors like Openwave systems. Along with his strong professional experience, he has an entrepreneurial background and has a solid business acumen, which allowed him to start and run a few businesses successfully. Najaf started several innovation labs during his career to incubate new ideas and built many proofs of concepts to disrupt different markets.

Haenel is a pioneer in the online brand protection and domain name industries. He held pivotal roles in companies that developed and led that industry for over 17 years. He joined MarkMonitor shortly after it was founded and remained until OpSec Security’s acquisition in early January of 2020 (OpSec Security Introduces OpSec Online, January 3, 2020). David holds an LLM in International Intellectual Property Law from University of Edinburgh and a JD from the University of Idaho. David is licensed to practice in the states of Arizona, Washington and Idaho.
