Kingsmead Security Completes Testing of IP2Location’s Geolocation Technology

Independent content security consulting firm Kingsmead Security has wrapped up security testing of Malaysian company IP2Location’s geolocation technology, a collection of IP-based geolocation software applications, Kingsmead announced.
Used to lock down the geographic location of any IP address, and detect the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and anonymizing proxies — which are commonly used to circumvent territorial restrictions of over-the-top (OTT) video services — IP2Location’s tech is proving crucial to services looking to detect illegal access to content.
IP2Location — founded in 2002 — looked to Kingsmead to confirm that its geolocation solutions are securing its clients’ content.
