Free French-Language VOD Service Looks to Red Bee

TV5MONDEplus, a new global VOD platform offering free French language HD series and films subtitled in five languages, is in the market, thanks to Red Bee Media’s OTT platform.
Using Red Bee’s end-to-end OTT solution — which offers broadcast-grade streaming, ad options and advanced DRM — TV5MONDEplus is now available in eight different regions and nearly 200 countries with both localised content and ad insertion, for browsers and both iOS and Android devices. Multi-screen app company Dotscreen used Red Bee’s software development kit (SDK), to manage content display, playback, entitlement, analytics, security and streaming for the service.
“Working with Red Bee and Dotscreen was essential for successfully launching TV5MONDEplus,” said Hélène Zemmour, digital director of TV5MONDE. “With Red Bee Media’s OTT-platform, we got access to first-class streaming and broadcasting expertise, as well as crucial features such as advanced advertising tech and geo-blocking functionality. This, in combination with Dotscreen’s design expertise, allows us to offer a high-end user-experience comparable to the biggest streaming services available. We are looking forward to continuing this cooperation, developing TVMONDEplus for the benefit of global audiences.”
TV5MONDEplus was created with the support of the governments of France, Canada, Switzerland, Wallonia-Brussels and Quebec at launch, with the mission of promoting French-speaking content.
