Film Festival Flix to Host ‘Shtisel’ Season 3 Premiere

Film Festival Flix will host the world premiere of critically-acclaimed Israeli television drama, Shtisel, season 3, from producer Dikla Barkai.

The first two seasons of the series, which follows the lives of an Haredi Jewish family living in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem, have gained a devoted following in the U.S., after a successful original run on Israeli network, yes OH. Fans have been clamoring for an update on the beloved characters for years, and the popularity of internet searches for “Shtisel Season 3” bear witness to the hum of anticipation in the Shtisel fandom.

This third season picks up four years from when we last saw the Shtisel family, with fan-favorite characters grown and facing new challenges, relationships, and choices.

“It’s the perfect story to connect with the students and families of Ida Crown Jewish Academy,” says Amber Davis Johnson, Director of Communications at Film Festival Flix. “ICJA is a co-educational Modern Orthodox high school, preparing their students to meet the challenges and choices of life after graduation. The viewers at the benefit event will see themselves, or, at least, characters very like themselves, on screen. That’s a validating and empowering experience.”

While the January 9th showing is a private event, limited to the ICJA Society of Patrons, Film Festival Flix has cultivated a relationship with the show’s producers and will be bringing Shtisel to more viewers via community events in the very near future, weeks ahead of season 3’s projected Netflix release. Next on the schedule is Bnei Akiva of Los Angeles.

For members of the ICJA Society of Patrons, tickets are available by RSVP here.
