TransPerfect Opens Istanbul Office

Worldwide language services and technology provider TransPerfect is branching out yet again, opening a new office in the Akaretler Sıraevler area of Istanbul.
The new office will serve as TransPerfect’s client service and production hub for the region, with the company building a team of linguists, project managers, localisation engineers, and data annotators to serve customers in the area.
Companies based in Istanbul include Turkish Airlines, Turkcell, LC Waikiki, and Koç Holding Group’s Arçelik and Beko, while international organisations with a large presence in Turkey include Pfizer, Unilever, Nestlé, Microsoft and Visa.
“Istanbul is an exciting and diverse city. We look forward to growing our operations there and to better servicing our clients based in Turkey,” said TransPerfect president and CEO Phil Shawe.”
TransPerfect’s Istanbul office will be overseen by translation industry vet N. Can Okay, who brings a decade-plus of experience managing language production teams. In addition to overseeing client work, Okay will be responsible for directing local recruitment to support an aggressive growth strategy.
