ZOO Digital Debuts Remote ADR Offering

In a nod to the recent shift to remote dubbing for the industry, localisation specialist ZOO Digital is debuting a new dedicated service for automated dialogue replacement (ADR).

The new ADR platform facilitates recording sessions from both studio and remote locations by creating a virtual ADR stage, with built-in video conferencing and collaboration tools that provide voice actors, directors, dialect coaches and others to work together in real time, and enables loop groups to record collaboratively during the same session. The service is offered either as a full-time solution for end-to-end services, or as an hourly rental for the virtual ADR stages.

“During 2020, we were pleased to be able to support a number of our customers to keep their productions moving with remote ADR services,” said Gordon Doran, president of ZOO Digital. “This was while also ensuring the health and safety of their actors and directors during a challenging period for everyone. Now, thanks to the rapid work of our in-house research and development team, we have been able to adapt our voice capture technology in order to launch a dedicated remote ADR service, right when the industry needs it most.”

The service provides auto-sync tools for snap-to-sync capabilities, ensuring all captured audio is frame accurate, and security features include multifactor authentication, watermarking, 256-bit encryption and secure video streaming.

In the future, in anticipation of productions ramping back up, ZOO’s virtual ADR stages will also offer additional recording capacity outside of traditional ADR.
