Convergent Expands Resources for Cloud, Application Security

Convergent Risks, a specialist in risk assessment and compliance services for the media and entertainment industry, has announced it has expanded resources for cloud and application security with the appointment of Nipun Mehta, its new VP and head of cloud and application security.

Mehta brings more than a decade of experience in network engineering, information security and cybersecurity, most recently working for NatWest Group, a British banking and insurance holding company, and London-based telecommunications firm BT.

“We are delighted that Nipun has agreed to join our cloud and application security team. We are seeing a significant increase in demand for assurance and testing in this area from both content owners and the vendor supply chain, as the migration to cloud increases,” said Convergent CEO Chris Johnson. “We felt it was important to bring experience from other business sectors, already further advanced in the cloud space. Nipun has extensive experience in conducting security risk assessments and audits, for private and public cloud infrastructure, including Azure and AWS, as well as developing standards and strategy adhering to ‘zero-trust’ and ‘secure by default/design’ methodologies.”

Convergent provides cloud and application security assessments for creative services vendors and SaaS application providers in the media and entertainment supply chain. The Convergent security assessment control matrix, which has been shared with content owners and trade bodies, incorporates Azure, AWS and Google cloud best practices, together with configuration vulnerability scanning.

Additionally, OWASP threat assessment penetration testing and CSA CCM service provider assessments are provided for SaaS and application providers.
