Digital Bedrock’s Tadic Honored by SMPTE

Linda Tadic, CEO and founder of digital preservation firm Digital Bedrock, was honored Dec. 1 by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) for her career work in the area of long-term storage, archive, and preservation of media content.

As part of SMPTE’s annual awards gala, Tadic was presented the James A. Lindner Archival Technology Medal, which recognizes significant technical advancements and contributions related to the invention or development of technology, techniques, workflows, or infrastructure around long-term storage, archive and preservation of media content.

Tadic has more than 25 years’ experience leading preservation, metadata and digital production operations at major media organizations and consults and lectures on digital asset management, audiovisual and digital preservation, copyright, and metadata. She is a founding member and former president of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA).

“This year’s honorees have done so much, in so many ways, to help our industry evolve and grow,” said Hans Hoffmann, president of SMPTE, in a statement. “Their achievements include remarkable technical advances from image capture to display, creative solutions for increasing representation across the industry, leadership in research and education, innovation in delivering moving images to consumers around the world, and critical work in standards development. We’re proud to highlight and honor their work at this year’s SMPTE virtual awards gala.”
