June and Firstlight Media Merge to Become JuneFirst

Two industry experts who have long worked in the fields of TV, media, production, rights ownership and distribution, now become JuneFirst. The merger creates a company with a unique full-service offering that includes everything from localisation, media and content management to associated tech services such as CMS, packaging, distribution and integration services.

“For a long time, we’ve had requests from content providers, streaming platforms and distributors alike to deliver a cohesive service chain,” says Katarina Svensson, CEO for JuneFirst. “The desire for a partner who can fulfil the whole chain is a strong trend, in Europe as well as in the Nordics. That’s why we created JuneFirst, so that we can be the first people you turn to in order to launch your content in a new market or on a new platform. We help our customers adapt, localise and transcode to take their content all the way.”

Clients can still choose to use JuneFirst’s Tech, Localisation and Content services separately. In addition, Comet, JuneFirst’s CMS, is offered as a SaaS service for customers who wish to manage their content themselves, where the customer receives a complete CMS for OTT, VOD, traditional linear TV and Live as well as modules for packaging and distributing content to any platform.

“Today’s customers want to create, manage and deliver content globally, in any language on any platform. At the same time, they want lower costs, shorter delivery times and higher quality,” says Martin Königsmark, Chairman of the Board, JuneFirst. “JuneFirst’s tech and localisation services are designed to meet those needs.”

With offices and knowledgeable staff in the four Nordic countries, JuneFirst can guarantee localisation and fast deliveries of so-called day and date material for customers with demanding contracts and delivery schedules.

Königsmark: “Players in the market choose to manage their content in very different ways. This creates opportunities for a flexible player who delivers technology, localisation and content under one roof and at the same time lets the customer choose to use only the parts they need. Merging the companies was therefore a natural step for us; we share a passion for innovation and providing our customers with the best service and solutions. Together, we can create even more value for our customers and the industry.”
