Audiohuis and ITV Studios Launch Crime Podcast ‘Autopsy’

Starting today, the first episode of Autopsy, a podcast series by Audiohuis and ITV Studios will launch initially on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. The 10 episode series will release an episode a week and is based on the successful documentary-style series Autopsy: The Last Hours Of, created by ITV Studios’ Potato for Channel 5 in the UK and for Reelz network in the US.

The podcast utilises the original audio from the TV series where renowned American forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Hunter delves into the official autopsy reports and medical records of various celebrities, exploring the precise causes of their tragic, controversial, and sometimes sudden deaths. Icons such as Aretha Franklin, Jeffrey Epstein, Muhammad Ali, Bob Marley, Audrey Hepburn and Walt Disney are examined, with insights provided by experts, family members, friends, and former colleagues, shedding new light on their lives and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Graham Haigh, EVP, Global Digital Partnerships, ITV Studios said: “It’s fantastic to see one of our hugely popular non-scripted brands such as Autopsy transitioning from TV into the podcast world and we’re thrilled with what the team at Audiohuis have delivered. As we continue to evolve our digital distribution the audio format space presents an opportunity for our huge library of IP and we are looking forward to seeing Autopsy reach new audiences around the world in this space”.

Mandy van der Wal, Director Audiohuis added: “I am thrilled to collaborate with ITV Studios in translating their content into audio. The accomplishment of our Audiohuis team in transforming the first TV documentary into a new podcast with great journalistic value fills me with pride.”
