MicroStrategy: AI Can Bring Data Insights to Every Employee

If your organization is struggling to bring data insights to every employee or confused about where to go to bring generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to your business intelligence (BI) solution, the MicroStrategy ONE platform may solve your problems, according to MicroStrategy.

The MicroStrategy ONE platform provides users with access to AI-powered workflows, unlimited data sources, cloud-native technologies, and “unparalleled performance to speed up time from data to action,” the company says.

The overall goal is to “help you align the future of AI/BI technology with your company vision,” according to MicroStrategy.

During the webinar “Fall in Love with MicroStrategy AI,” PeggieSue Werthessen, the company’s VP of product marketing, and David Swan, manager, sales engineering at MicroStrategy, and discussed some of the benefits of MicroStrategy One.

One of the three main benefits of the platform is that it can “elevate every role” at a company with impactful insights via simple to-use AI + BI tools that every person within an organization can easiy work with, “no tech-speak necessary,” according to MicroStrategy.

The other two main benefits are that it “eliminates data chaos by cutting out data clutter with a single source of truth everyone can easily get answers from,” and it allows a company to embrace technological freedom” because the MicroStrategy ONE platform is “fully customizable” to each organization’s specific structure and needs, the company says.

Now there is also a new AI assistant, called Otto, she told viewers.

She also told viewers she and Swan would be including some future features during demonstrations later in the webinar. But she warned it’s possible that MicroStrategy may not deliver those features and suggested that viewers only make any investments in MicroStrategy based on the product as it exists today.

“Everything we’re talking about today is based on the MicroStrategy One platform,” which she said was “based on our 30 years of experience but has been refactored as a fully cloud native, containerized microservices architecture.”

The platform is now available on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. But she added it will “soon we’ll be making it available as a self- managed option for private cloud as well,” she said.

She went on to say: “When we think about what we’re going to invest in, when we think about MicroStrategy One, we think of these three themes: pervasive, trusted and open. And they really go hand in hand. You can’t think about one without thinking about the other. Let’s take, for example, AI, which we’re here to talk about today. It’s very easy to understand how AI is going to help us with pervasive analytics, since it makes it easier to interact with data using natural language. However, it’s super important that the answers that come from at AI are also trusted.”

Everything the company builds, meanwhile, is reusable and inheritable, which makes it “easier to manage the platform,” she noted.

“Of course, we think about the way we deliver AI in an open way. Today, we’re built on Microsoft Open AI, but we can easily move between different AI algorithms because we want to make sure that we’re flexible and agile.”

Werthessen ended on what she called “one key fact”:

“We know that MicroStrategy AI, and AI in general, helps to drive pervasive analytics because it makes the platform easier to use. But what you might not be thinking about is the impact to the analyst and to the business. [For] the analyst, not only are they going to be able to automate certain workflows to speed up their work, but because the end users are able to deliver an answer on their own questions, that eliminates the backlog of random requests from the analyst. And it also allows the analyst to simplify the design of what they deliver so that they can work on deeper, more transformative results.”
