SoCal Women’s Leadership Group to Offer Career Tips During HITS Fall

On Oct. 18, the SoCal Women’s Leadership Group will once again co-locate with HITS Fall, with top industry executives offering up career advice for women in entertainment and technology.

The afternoon SoCal Women’s Leadership Group event, held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, is produced by the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) groups, and features the membership and support of several women’s entertainment coalitions, including Netflix’s Women in Tech, Women@Disney, Women of Fox Sports, NBC Universal’s SoCal Women’s Network (WNN), Lionsgate Women’s Empowerment Group (WEG), Fox’s Women in Tech@21CF, Women of Warner (WOW), and SPE’s Women in Technology (WiT) and Women of Action Vision and Empowerment (WAVE).

This year, the event features a panel, a keynote presentation, and roundtable discussions surrounding the theme “Career Resilience: Saying Yes to Uncertainty and Navigating Change,” which will examine strategies women to thrive in their careers amidst new business models in the industry.

Cheryl Hunter, a speaker, author and resilience coach, Cristina Mancini Jones, EVP of technology and creative strategy for Twentieth Century Fox, Deb Newmyer, a director, producer and author, and Shelley Zalis, founder and CEO of The Girls Lounge and The Female Quotient, will be on hand to discuss.

Attendance at the SoCal Women’s Leadership Group event is complimentary for both qualified end-users and HITS Fall attendees, with more than 500 studio leaders and their technology partners expected to be on HITS Fall event, to hear a progress report on the latest tools, trends and technologies that are changing how consumers engage with and experience entertainment.
