Senior UX Designer

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Responsible for guiding the user experience for Exactuals new and existing products. This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a high level of critical thinking. A successful candidate will be analytical, customer focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently to meet deadlines. This individual should have a passion for empathizing with the needs and behaviors of our users, and how to solve for them through design.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Demonstrate strong visual design skill, ability to solve UX (User Experience) problems, ability to work within an existing visual system and to create new, extensible patterns.
Responsible for conceptualizing and delivering design assets that meet business and usability objectives
Focus on product structure and user flows over individual UI (User Interface) elements (visual and interaction)
Identify framework improvements opportunities to increase overall and more consistent UX
Assist in driving standards and pattern creation across the product portfolio
Ensure that the user experience and overall UI is intuitive
Build relationships across disciplines with designers, product managers, subject matter experts, developers and engineers
Effectively collaborates and shares work with team members, as well as cross-functional teams
Has an established process for thinking through problems
Works well within existing visual and UX patterns, but knows when and how to break out
Spreads design thinking and helps to educate cross-functional teams
Provides solid feedback and help to team members
Accepts and resolves critique gracefully
Writes documentation for various UX subjects

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

Bachelor’s Degree Design, Usability, a related discipline or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in User Experience Design and/or Human Computer Interaction
3+ years of experience with iOS styles, standards, and methodologies; User Centered Design (UCD) process

Skills and Knowledge

A critical thinker with excellent conceptual and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Great design sensibility skills, with extreme attention to detail
Ability to leverage user testing and data to inform design decisions
Familiarity with current web, mobile and app development technologies and current design trends
Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS techniques
Professional portfolio demonstrating problem-solving abilities and outlining level of participation for each project
