WiTH WORKSHOP KEYNOTE ADDRESS: Women Don’t Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation and Positive Strategies for Change

Sara Laschever, Author

Have you ever been afraid to ask for what you want in the workplace? Have you ever wondered if you could improve your abilities to negotiate, how that might impact your job, your ability to work with vendors, your confidence in asking for what you deserve, both in your public and private life? Authors Sara Laschever and Linda Babcock have identified solutions to the challenges women face in negotiating in their groundbreaking book on the topic, “Women Don’t Ask.” For our upcoming WiTH event, author Sara Laschever will be presenting a keynote address highlighting the main topics of the book, which will be followed by round table discussions on pragmatic ways you can put your new learnings into place immediately, followed by a networking holiday fest.

Sara Laschever is an author, editor, and cultural critic who has spent her career investigating the obstacles, detours, and special circumstances that shape women’s lives and careers. She has written extensively about women in business, women in literature and the arts, women in academia, and women in the sciences. Her work has been published by The New York Times, The Guardian, The New York Review of Books, The Harvard Business Review, Vogue, Glamour, and many other publications. She is the co-author, with Linda Babcock, of two groundbreaking books about women and negotiation, Women Don’t Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation—and Positive Strategies for Change and Ask for It! How Women Can Use the Power of Negotiation to Get What They Really Want.
