Duties: Function as a member of the software development team for multimedia, web and mobile technologies, working with existing and emerging web and cloud based services. Rapidly code and prototype computer systems in a multimedia environment. Liaise with management, developers, and operations staff on projects related to technology and architecture of digital media systems, including identifying and implementing technical products and services for web based delivery.

Research new computer technologies and quickly embrace them by revising and developing new code and altering Sirius XM systems, as necessary. Code for prototypes and production systems and support our production systems and upgrades as part of the big data system architecture. Utilize knowledge of and experience with DFS, Spark, Hive programming and analytics languages. Regularly work with Java software development in support of our big data algorithm implementation and analytics implementation / coding.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering plus five years of experience in position offered or as Computer Systems Analyst or Technical Lead.

Two years of the required experience must have included Java, J2ee software development in support of big data algorithm implementation and analytics implementation and coding; rapid prototyping of system components as part of big data system architecture; organizing data sets for analytics processing in Hadoop, HDFS, Cassandra, Spark ML, Scala, and Kafka; working with cloud management services, caching, and scale-out; using cloud APIs; performing REST API invocation to calibrate and analyze results; and conducting Social Media API level interactions.
