Solutions Marketing Manager – Media, Publishing & Entertainment

MarkLogic is a fast-growing, successful, privately held company that has been delivering an innovative database platform to enterprises in both the public and private sectors for over a decade.

We are adding to our marketing group, and we’re looking for the right person to help us define and communicate our message to new audiences. We’re looking for a strategic and visionary marketer who is eager to roll up their sleeves, make measurable contributions, and deliver high performance, competitive solutions marketing messaging and content.

Your main responsibility will be to help us successfully explain how amazingly useful MarkLogic solutions are for the stakeholders in the Media, Publishing, and Entertainment sectors – as well as for stakeholders with similar responsibilities in other industries (Government, Healthcare, Manufacturing, etc). Your role will include opportunities to tackle both big-picture strategic challenges like developing plans to introduce new verticals to MarkLogic, and hands-on operational responsibilities including writing whitepapers and web copy, planning and executing internal training and sales enablement, and delivering our message in meetings and presentations with external audiences. The ideal candidate will be an extremely intelligent, highly organized, effective communicator, who has domain expertise in the Media, Publishing and Entertainment sectors, and is ready to learn about new topics in the database and enterprise software worlds.

Some sample responsibilities include:

  • Developing new content to support our messaging to customers, partners, analysts, journalists, and internal groups – and briefing these audiences on our capabilities and key value propositions.
  • Working with vertical marketing managers to implement go-to-market campaigns for solutions, new markets and geographies to ensure successful, integrated and differentiated programs.
  • Researching case studies and developing sales-ready case study materials based on whiteboards and other field team input
  • Supporting the CTO, solution architects, and field team members with development of content and slide decks for executive presentations
  • Supporting the sales team with killer sales tools specifically targeted at selling MarkLogic for their industry engagements. Equip the team with a focused set of high performance tools that drive revenue in target audiences.
  • Supporting the corporate marketing team in briefings and meetings with industry analysts, prospects, customers, and media
  • Evangelizing MarkLogic through webinars, social media, contributed articles, blogs, and events
  • Building strong relationships with senior executive team, sales, product management and marketing teams as well as customers and partners

This position is customer and partner facing. Travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in marketing and/or product management in enterprise software
  • Experience in the Media, Publishing, and/or Entertainment industry
  • Knowledge of enterprise sales process and customer buying behavior for software
  • Established track record with outbound marketing and field support
  • Experience with Challenger Messaging
  • Able to craft and tell the company story. Excellent presentation skills – internally with sales and executives; externally with customers and to the market
