Sr. Data Engineer

Job Summary:
The Sr. Data Engineer will work to design and develop data process to support Avid’s Master Data Management and Enterprise Analytics programs. Starting out, Sr. Data Engineer will focus on defining the data processing framework that will enable the mastering of our Customer and Product data. Next will be the fun part, building the ETL processes to fuel the successful implementation of 360 views of our Customer and Products that will aid Avid in optimally nurturing our customer relationships.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Partner with IT leaders and develop relationships to solve data problems
Assist in development of principles, policies, standards and guidelines for data management
Develop and own master data processes and data models to ensure our enterprise data is structured for ease of use and optimized for performance
Design and build automated and scalable data processes to support Master Data Management and Enterprise Reporting applications
Collaborate with Integrations Team to create real-time and near real-time data connectivity between core business applications and data management platforms
Implement comprehensive testing and monitoring processes to ensure data quality and timely error detection
Find innovative solutions to business technology challenges specifically related to data
Define and support ETL, data, and business intelligence architectures
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Expert proficiency with SQL required, Python or other scripting language preferred, experience with graph databases a plus
Expert proficiency with (master) data management, iPaaS, and data visualization tools: Domo & Workato preferred
7+ years of experience in data management engineering and ETL development
7+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
Must be able to initiate change and effectively communicate both verbally and written with senior management
Demonstrates capacity for organization and planning of work-related activities and workloads for self and others
Ability to analyze and solve practical business problems, demonstrates good decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong technical aptitude.
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, API & JSON a plus
Experience with Python, R, Java or C# is a plus
