Evolution Digital today announced that WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone is the first broadband operator to offer Evolution Digital’s acclaimed eBOXTM IP hybrid set-top box, powered by TiVo®. eBOX is being deployed for WOW!’s newly developed SW!VEL service, which combines live TV with leading OTT services for its residential customers. In December 2015, Evolution Digital and WOW! announced a deal to deploy the new low-cost, hybrid HD STB using TiVo software, paving the way for the transition to IP. Evolution Digital’s eBOX, powered by TiVo, integrates traditional linear channels with OTT video solutions and provides universal search across all cable and IP video content. “We are excited that WOW!, a leading broadband operator in the pay-TV industry, is offering this unique video solution to viewers for an outstanding entertainment experience,” said Brent Smith, president and chief technology officer at Evolution Digital. “By delivering eBOX, powered by TiVo, WOW! customers can combine linear video content, available in QAM and IP, as well as the best OTT services, all on one platform for seamless navigation.”

Evolution Digital’s eBOX, powered by TiVo, can be configured to support an all-IP platform, including live linear, Video on Demand and, when operators are ready, network DVR on one platform, with TiVo’s world-renowned features such as universal search, browse, and personalized recommendations. Apps from TiVo’s growing slate of leading OTT video offerings will be included on the eBOX platform.
