See Jane Salon Runs Content Creator Panel June 6

On June 6 in Los Angeles, the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media will hold another in its series of See Jane Salon events, this one tackling how content is being made for Generation Z.

Hosted by Creative Arts Agency (CAA), the event will look at how that by the end of the decade, no one racial or ethnic group will constitute a majority of children under the age of 18. This is forcing content creators to change how they create and distribute content, especially considering this generation will be the most digitally in-tune in human history.

“Generation Z is seeking entertainment that reflects the diverse stories of their world and how they see themselves in society,” a description of the panel reads.

The panel — moderated by Maggie Chieffo, GM and editor in chief of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls organization — will offer up insights and best practices for contnt companies, and will include film producer Susan Cartsonis (“What Women Want” and “Where the Heart Is”), Jodi Goldberg, director of content for American Girl, Annie Leal, social media manager for mitú, and Yara Shahidi, an actor on “Black-ish.”
