Rovi Gives i-Guide an HD Upgrade

Rovi debuted a new version of its entertainment discovery platform i-Guide, upgrading it with a new user interface and high-def support. Rovi also announced that it’s already landed a customer for the guide: Broadband cable provider Click! Network is deploying i-Guide HD R32 for its subscribers.

The upgraded i-Guide enables service providers to upgrade their entertainment discovery services without switching out existing hardware, Rovi noted. The i-Guide HD R32 features an auto-tune option, which switches viewers automatically from standard-def channels to HD, and features an enhanced TV listings grid, allowing users to see more channel listings on one page.
Currently, i-Guide HD R32 is available for subscribers with Arris set-tops, with Pace set-top boxes expected to support the service later this year.
