MarkLogic Webinar to Tackle Gaps in Using Consumer Data

Media and entertainment companies have more access to consumer data than ever before, and can use it to inform their targeting, programming, advertising, and even their content creation.

But despite this bevy of information about their consumers, many in the M&E space are still struggling to put the data to use. That will be the topic of discussion tomorrow, in the webinar “Using Customer Data: How to Break Through the Barriers to Your Success!” Co-produced by MarkLogic and the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA), the 8 a.m. PT event will see Matt Turner, MarkLogic’s CTO for media and entertainment, MarkLogic chief content officer Diane Burley, and MESA executive director Guy Finley tackle what it takes to create a better customer profile, using marketing tools, internal systems and external data sources.

“It’s not news that you can use consumer data to improve your business, but not many can put it into action across the supply chain,” Turner said. “In this webinar, we’ll be looking at that operational gap.”

Advertisers, internet companies and brands know a lot about their consumers, but it’s the M&E sector creating the actual (and valuable) content. And the content creators can make their products even more valuable, by better mining the data that’s available to them. The webinar will put a focus on how data can be used to increase digital ad revenue and ensure product renewals, with MarkLogic highlighting how a 360-degree view of data helped one of its customers — international legal news company ALM Media — integrate silos and generate ROI.

The Nov. 10 webinar is the second in a series of M&E webinars from MarkLogic, with the first — “Secret To Your Success: Get To Know Your Customer” — first taking place July 27. This latest webinar will by followed by two more: “The Road to Success: Building the Enterprise Data Hub for Customer Data,” and “The Impact of Customer Data: How to Plan for Success.”
