Deque Systems Addresses Content Accessibility at CPS Event

At the Dec. 8 virtual Content Protection Summit Mark Lasser, senior accessibility consultant for Deque Systems, will ask content companies whether they’re doing enough to make content accessible for everyone.

His presentation — “Content is for EVERYONE: Accessibility and the ADA” — will tackle compliance with the Americans Disabilities Act by websites for entertainment companies, and will address challenges and ideals going forward.

“Do you know how big your audience with disabilities is for your distributed content? This breakout will take a birds-eye view of the size, spending power and legal implications of distribution for this massive market segment,” Lasser said.

Lasser (CPACC) first joined Deque in 2019 and previously worked as a senior accessibility specialist for Starbucks and as a senior director of accessibility at Charter Communications. His experience on ADA compliance with those corporations will be shared with attendees of the breakout presentation.

Presented by Microsoft Azure, the event is sponsored by SHIFT, Genpact, Akamai, Convergent Risks, Friend MTS, GeoGuard, PacketFabric, Palo Alto Networks, Richey May Technology Solutions, Splunk, Zixi, EIDR, Cyberhaven and Xcapism Learning.

The Content Protection Summit is produced by MESA, CDSA, the Hollywood IT Society (HITS) and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH), under the direction of the CDSA Board of Directors and content advisors representing Amazon Studios, Adobe, Paramount, BBC Studios, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, WarnerMedia, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, and Lego Group.
