Richey May Technology Dives Into WFH Security at March 16 SCS

This past year of forced remote working for the industry should have been a wake-up call for Hollywood, according to JT Gaietto, executive director of cybersecurity for Richey May Technology Solutions.

“2020 was the year that really gummed up the works. Not only did we have to fundamentally change the way we do business but we also had to adjust to drastic social and security changes,” he said. “But many companies are just sitting this out. They are figuring how to turn lemons into lemonade, moving their workloads to the cloud and enabling people to work remotely.”

At the March 16 Smart Content Summit event, Gaietto will share what his company has learned about securing home offices, and how that begins with recognizing the increased risk surrounding the information home workers handle. He’ll share trends media and entertainment workers need to be aware of going forward, and will focus on the trend back to virtual desktops in Hollywood.

“The continued focus and growth to the cloud has made virtual desktops the new black,” he said. ”Companies are leveraging remote desktops to enable their production workflows while being more secure than allowing traditional bring your own device.”

The Smart Content Summit is produced by MESA and the Smart Content Council, and is sponsored by Microsoft Azure, Whip Media Group, Richey May Technology Solutions, BeBanjo, Digital Nirvana, Softtek, 24Notion, EIDR, The Quorum and Signiant.
