MicroStrategy Touts ‘3 Pillars’ Behind Analytics Industry’s Lowest TCO Solution
Story Highlights
MicroStrategy’s enterprise analytics platform provides its customers with “Intelligence Everywhere” and the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership (TCO}, enabling organizations to maximize their data and technology investments without having to reinvent the wheel, according to the company.
On Dec. 9, during the webinar “The 3 Pillars Behind the Analytics Industry’s Lowest TCO Powered by MicroStrategy,” the company provided insights on how to empower analysts and architects with intuitive and sophisticated tools and expand an organization’s analytics reach across the enterprise. The webinar was part of the company’s Innovation Series.
Noting the importance of data being governed so we’re not creating multiple objects that “will be a maintenance nightmare” for an organization, Erika Moreno, senior director of product management at the company, said: “That is where Workstation comes in. It allows reusability of the objects created” and allows users to create “actionable and easy-to-use objects.”
An organization’s end users can then “consume their data in different formats,” she said, noting consistency is maintained across an organization’s business intelligence (BI) solution “when something gets updated.”
One good thing about the interface is “we get this filter section where you can tailor the information that you’re looking at,” she pointed out.
But how are we going to deliver all that to users and “push those insights to every nook and corner of an organization?” Nida Imtiaz, product manager for MicroStrategy HyperIntelligence, asked viewers.
“MicroStrategy’s mission is to make every enterprise a more intelligent enterprise…. We want everyone in an organization to have access to data and be able to make data-informed decisions,” Imtiaz said.
MicroStrategy did research last year to understand the global state of the enterprise, Imtiaz noted. It found that “nearly 97 percent of real-time enterprise decisions are data-deprived,” she said. Additionally, 60% spend hours or days getting info and “only 3 percent can find information in seconds,” she noted.
Meanwhile, “it is a known fact that not everyone in an enterprise is data literate because they might not have the time or sometimes they might not have the expertise or initiative to imbue every decision they make using the best data insights that are available to them,” she said. “At MicroStrategy, we understand this problem,” so the company works to build cost-effective solutions to overcome this challenge, she added.
MicroStrategy offers three strategies that can help an organization expand the reach of data across the enterprise, she went on to say.
First is HyperIntelligence, the technology that it introduced in 2019 and keeps enhancing, she said, noting it overlays information (data in the form of HyperIntelligence cards) on top of applications an organization uses.
You can make the HyperIntelligence “white labeled,” using an organization’s own branding, so users do not need to learn something they perceive to be entirely new, she said, adding it can be deployed to thousands of users. It enables you to reach users so they can make data-informed decisions in seconds, she added.
MicroStrategy’s second strategy is the use of embedded analytics, she said, noting: “You can infuse your existing apps with MicroStrategy insights” and use different MicroStrategy tools to make your company’s apps more intuitive.
“We have a rich set” of application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) available that she said “will make it super-easy to embed and white label so that it can fit seamlessly into your own brand” and increase productivity.
The third strategy it recommends is MicroStrategy Cloud, which she said an organization can “leverage” to “seamlessly scale to tens of thousands of users,” offering users security, scalability and performance.
“MicroStrategy is on its way” to getting Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)-certified, she said, noting: “We’re very close to that,” and it will mean customers can “be 100 percent confident in using [MicroStrategy] Cloud because they think that their data is going to be secure with the highest-grade controls and best practices of the BI industry.”
She added: “If you use our cloud offering your organization can spend more time focusing on delivering solutions that matter to you and not worry about managing and scaling and securing your BI solution.”
She went on to provide a demo of the MicroStrategy Application, a desktop viewing tool that, despite that description, is also available for web and mobile devices on the Android and Apple iOS platforms, she said, adding it is available for online and offline use.
