MESA Member Webinar Week Ahead: April 23-29

MESA members descend on Las Vegas for the NAB Show, ME-ISAC unveils its new user portal, and the latest “Lunch and Learn” event goes over the attributes of great leadership.

Those are just a couple of the events from the MESA community the week of April 23-29, according to MESA’s global member e-calendar.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead:

Saturday:

• At the April 23 Anti-Piracy and Content Protection Summit in Las Vegas, industry collaboration and a community approach toward protecting our assets will be the focus of the day, as the top content protection minds in media and entertainment gather together to discuss everything from global approaches for content protection and anti-piracy, to recovering revenue from piracy.

The top minds in content protection for media and entertainment will gather in-person at the NAB Show. Started in 2018, CDSA’s Content Protection Summit returns to Las Vegas the day before NAB exhibits open on Saturday, April 23 from 1–5:30 p.m. at SAHARA Las Vegas. Content owners and their service provider partners will bring a focus on the latest content protection challenges our industry is facing as we emerge out of COVID-19 lockdowns. This year’s Summit looks ahead at the challenges facing the security community in 2022 and beyond.

Sunday:

During the 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas, an “Intelligent Content” stage in the West Hall will feature presentations every day on the latest industry trends, and all week, MESA and its members will be front and centre.

On Sunday, April 24, attendees will hear from cybersecurity experts, beginning with the 10:30 a.m. discussion “The Platform Approach to Securing a Remote Workforce.” M&E moved entirely to native digital workflows during the global pandemic that have inter-dependencies between networks, devices, and users that were impossible to predict (nor utilise!) just over a year ago.

Digital asset management and virtual production will also be covered on the stage by MESA members during the NAB Show.

Monday:

• Hundreds of media and entertainment industry players will descend on the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the annual MESA Las Vegas Member Reception, being held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Join MESA Members and invited guests for an evening of cocktails and conversation. Technology executives from every attending studio, network, and independent meet at this reception, where entertainment companies connect with technology. 5th Kind, GeoComply, ICVR, Microsoft, NAGRA, Premiere Digital, Rightsline, Testronic and Vision Media are sponsoring.

Tuesday:

• At its April 26 monthly meeting, held the last Tuesday of each month, Media & Entertainment Information Sharing Analysis Center (ME-ISAC https://www.meisac.org) will see director Chris Taylor detail the launch of the ME-ISAC’s new member portal.

The new portal will take over distribution of ME-ISAC alerts and provide its members with a way to get access to the archive of old alerts, talk about alerts and other news amongst themselves, and share intel either directly to the community or to the ISAC, so it can in turn share it with the community.  ME-ISAC is also leveraging the portal as the primary collaboration means for all of its working groups, providing a group chat, document repository, and other features to enable those groups to work together.

This month’s meeting’s presentation will be a demo of the portal so industry stakeholders and other attendees can see what is to come and answer any questions.

• “Through the Eyes of an Adversary” will be hosted by Palo Alto Networks. Adversaries don’t discriminate. Small and mid-size businesses – organisations with fewer than 1,000 employees – face the same risks of ransomware, data breaches and other exposures as large organisations. How are you staying ahead of these threats?

In a tell-all panel discussion, product leaders from Palo Alto Networks will sit down with former black hat hacker Hector Monsegur to dive into how to view your organisations from an adversary’s perspective and how this viewpoint should inform security operations.

Thursday:

• “A CX Moment with Spartan Race” will be hosted by Zendesk. Spartan Race is the world’s largest obstacle race and endurance brand. Join Zendesk as it talks to Aja Varney, director of global customer engagement, on how to scale support and improve workflows for each support channel.

• MESA’s “Lunch and Learn” is held every Thursday via the MESAverse platform and Zoom, and intended to bring MESA members together to network, share and learn. The MESAverse is MESA’s virtual work environment for its members and communities to watch live presentations, network, and step on the stage to share opinions. MESAverse is using ICVR’s RendezVu, a proprietary, interactive 3D-world application that will allow for hybrid live and virtual events and regular day-to-day interactions that go far beyond video conferencing.

The April 28 edition, “Attributes of Great Leaders,” will feature James Dunkelberger, partner director of program management at Microsoft.
