Video Security Summit Kicks Off June 14

The 2022 Video Security Summit, industry’s only all-digital event dedicated specifically to piracy, is set for June 14, 7:30-11:30 a.m. PT, with a host of experts set to speak on every corner of the anti-piracy and cybersecurity business.

Executives, managers, and stakeholders across the media and entertainment ecosystem will be on hand to discuss the latest, ongoing threats, what can be done about them, how to fight them through the power of collaboration, and how to protect critical service delivery infrastructure, in a two-part programme.

The first part of the day will cover “Recognising Piracy and Its Impact,” with sessions covering:

• The Big Picture: A ‘Piracy 101’ Re-Introduction
• New Ways to Prevent, Detect and Combat Piracy, Thanks to Advances in Cybersecurity
• How Sports Leagues Pinpoint and Shut Down Piracy at Lightning Speed
• OTT Infrastructure Security: An End-to-End Proposition

After a quick refresher and a view of today’s piracy landscape, the agenda gets right to the business at hand with a case study of a major pay TV provider in the Americas that recognises anti-piracy as an end-to-end proposition, seeking not only to see where their video programming is going illegally, but also to protect consumer endpoints and apply risk scores that help them prioritise their efforts.

Attendees will also see how another video provider recognises sports piracy and shuts it down while events are in progress and will learn about emerging techniques that complement anti-piracy initiatives that are already underway.

The second part of the day will cover “Protecting Critical Infrastructure,” with sessions covering:

• Securing Video: The Focus Needs to be Wider Than the Stream
• Applying Cybersecurity Sensibilities to the Piracy Problem
• Practical Piracy Detection for Beginners
• Emerging Piracy Use-Cases

This section of the program with the challenges surrounding the protection of online video and the importance of securing video production workflow. A cybersecurity expert’s perspectives about securing video services in South Africa, and how the risks and remedies are both different there and the same as everywhere. The agenda delves into piracy detection for beginners, with practices that help recognise piracy by spotting anomalies in account, content, and service usage.
