BB: Ukraine Gets New Sports Streamer Amidst War

Media and entertainment consulting firm BB (Business Bureau) has released its latest “Multiscreen+ Platform Essentials” report, covering the new and expanded streaming services from the month of June.

Most notable among the five new streaming services to debut worldwide was the launch of Setanta Sports in Ukraine, the first OTT platform there exclusively for sports, with NHL, NBA, APL, Bundesliga, FA Cup, Formula 1 and UFC content available. Other new services launched in Brazil (EMCPlay), Chile (Mundo Go!), Spain (Jazztel TV) and worldwide with the debut of FIFA+, offering live matches from around the world, along with news programming.

In other worldwide availability news, Disney+ announced it would launch in 42 new countries and 11 territories during the summer, and Paramount+ arrived in Ireland, South Korea and the UK in June.

Viaplay Select, a Nordic content services, expanded to Japan, while the Latin AVOD platform Riivi expanded into Peru and Columbia. Meanwhile in Europe, Peacock debuted on the Sky platform in Switzerland, and the BBC Player service debuted in Poland for Canal+ subscribers.
