MESA Member Webinar Week Ahead: Oct. 31-Nov. 4

Ransomware and data protection webinars from Wasabi, 3D and workflow presentations from Adobe, and a full day of sessions from Women in Technology Hollywood at the SoCal Women’s Leadership Summit in Los Angeles.

Those are just a few of the events from the MESA community the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 4, according to MESA’s global member e-calendar.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead:

Monday:

• “Data Loss or Data Protection: The Ultimate Trick or Treat with Wasabi and Veeam” will see experts discuss key strategies in protecting your Microsoft 365 data from ransomware, natural disasters, human error, and yes, even the boogie man. Your organisation may be at risk of losing access to critical Microsoft 365 data. For many organisations, Microsoft 365 acts as a hub for daily business operations. E-mails gather in the thousands and documents, presentations and spreadsheets propagate into the uncountable masses. Organisations continue to produce more and more data through Microsoft 365 each year, but can they confidently say that their data is secure?

Wednesday:

• Palo Alto Networks’ “The Modern SOC, Reimagined” will discuss today’s advanced adversaries and share their expert views on how SOC teams must adapt to cope with a flood of disconnected data, and unveil Cortex XSIAM a platform that promises to revolutionise security operations across the enterprise and the cloud. Cortex XSIAM is designed to be the new centre of SOC activities, replacing SIEM and other specialty products. An automation-first approach radically improves protection while transforming and streamlining today’s manual SecOps model.

• “Connect your workflows: Seamless Adobe integrations with Microsoft and Salesforce” will see experts share actionable tips and demos for accomplishing more with your documents while staying in the flow of work. Learn about using Adobe Acrobat to create, edit, collaborate, request signatures, and track documents all from inside Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft apps you already use, so you can stay focused and be more effective, and ensuring added file security and compliance via Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) for PDF documents.

Thursday:

• “The Long Road Ahead to Ransomware Preparedness” will cover how ransomware is a top-of-mind issue for so many organisations, an issue that few feel totally prepared for. Without a blueprint for ransomware protection, organisations are building their own strategies and processes. With ransomware protection included with so many different security and data protection solutions, many are confused about the scope of what is to be included, who is responsible for the implementation, and who needs to be involved in the conversation. Join Christophe Bertrand with ESG and Drew Schlussel with Wasabi Technologies to review the survey findings and determine how you can develop a better ransomware protection plan. All attendees will receive an exclusive copy of the ESG Ransomware Preparedness Survey Report.

• Digital Nirvana’s “Accelerate Avid Media Production with Integrated Transcript Data” will show you how MetadataIQ improves the media accessibility and the creation process within Avid. The company will also discuss how metadata locators within the Avid Interplay MAM help editors and producers quickly identify and retrieve content, saving valuable time and effort.

• “Give Your Brand Elements Depth and Realism with 3D” with Adobe will see attendees learn how the Substance 3D Collection can help you apply your brand elements to real-world objects and settings in a more efficient, realistic, and scalable way than with traditional graphic design tools. Explore how to quickly apply logos and icons to 3D objects and settings, give your 2D brand elements more dimensionality with realistic 3D textures and settings, and create immersive 3D scenes where your brand identity takes centre stage.

Friday:

• The annual SoCal Women’s Leadership Summit, presented by Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH), returns Nov. 4 in Los Angeles as both a live, in-person event, and online via the MESAverse virtual platform, bringing together thought leaders in technology and management to discuss the changing landscape of leadership, diversity, accessibility and more.

The half-day event will feature presentations and breakout sessions tackling the impact of bias, both human and algorithmic, leading during the enduring COVID-19 pandemic, and the social equality movement. The most recent in-person edition of the SoCal Women’s Leadership Summit saw more than 250 attendees, with more than 70 percent representing the media and entertainment industry and tech-adjacent companies.

As part of the event, WiTH will name the recipients of the 5th Annual Leadership Awards.

• Amazon Web Services hosts its “Cloud Practitioner Essentials Day.” This course is for individuals who seek an overall understanding of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, independent of specific technical roles. You will learn about AWS Cloud concepts, core AWS services, security, architecture, pricing, and support to build your AWS Cloud knowledge. This course also helps you prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam.
