OOONA Integrates Limecraft AI Tech

Media localisation technology firm OOONA used the Languages & the Media Conference in Berlin to announce it has partnered with online video production workspace firm Limecraft to offer users more subtitling automation in its media localisation platform.
OOONA Tools will now offer greater flexibility through the integration of Limecraft’s AI-powered subtitling automation, with Limecraft’s tech cutting down the time needed to complete same-language subtitling assignments by up to 80 percent, depending on the content. The solution was originally developed in collaboration with the VRT, the BBC and ITV.
“We have recently crossed the threshold of two percent word error rate in some of our transcription tasks — this is huge in terms of productivity improvement,” said Maarten Verwaest, founder and CEO at Limecraft. “We are very excited to feature our bespoke subtitling automation solution in OOONA’s Toolkit and reach an even wider user base.
