BB Media: June Slowdown in Streaming Launches

A handful of new streaming launches were seen worldwide in June, with two services — AMC Theaters on Demand in the U.S. and CinépolisKlic in Mexico — shuttering, according to a new report from BB Media.
Europe saw the most activity, with the launches of gastronomy channel El Gourmet in Spain, Filmbox+ in Poland, and GB Basketball TV in the U.K. AVOD service Play rebranded as RTL.hr and Play Premium became Voyo, both in Croatia.
In Latin America, MSPlay Box debuted in Uruguay, with pay TV operator Multisenal getting into the streaming game. After a decade of operation, CinepolisKlic shuttered in Mexico, and WOM TV users in Chile were migrated over to the Zapping streaming service.
Lastly in Asia, India’s Airtel XStream service became Airtel XStream Play, with nearly 20 new OTT app partnerships added.
