Boo! Reelgood Data Shows AMC+, Prime Video Lead in Horror Quality

If you’re looking for both quantity and high-quality horror fare this Halloween season, Prime Video and AMC+ are the clear front runners among streamers, according to data from Reelgood.

Prime Video offers nearly 1,100 total horror films, more than 130 of those rating a 6 or higher on IMDb, while AMC+ offers more than 630 total, with nearly 200 scoring that high using IMDb ratings.

Shudder and Peacock Premium took the third and fourth spots, respectively, each with roughly 300 horror films overall (130 quality for Shudder, 107 for Peacock).

Though while Prime offers the most in terms of quality and quantity, it also offers the most low-rated horror selections, with 932 films scoring below 6 using IMDb ratings.

Netflix, Prime Video, and Hulu offer the most extensive horror content catalogue for TV shows, and in terms of quality, Netflix provides the highest amount of solid horror series, followed by Hulu and Prime Video.

The data comes from an Oct. 10 catalogue snapshot of selected SVOD services, and Reelgood then assessed the quantity of available horror content and categorised it based on level of quality using IMDb scores.
