MESA Member Webinar Week Ahead: Oct. 23-27

MESA members gather in New York for the East Coast offering of the NAB Show, Perforce talks version control for creators, and Zixi discusses effective ways to lower total cost of ownership in the industry.

Here’s what the MESA community has planned the week of Oct. 23-27, according to MESA’s global member e-calendar.

Tuesday:

• NAB Show New York kicks off, with more than a dozen MESA members showcasing their latest offerings. What’s working? What isn’t? How do I do that with this? Here is where we come together to answer those questions. Lean into efficiency. Learn how to get the most out of your resources. Connect with the products, practices and people propelling broadcast, media and entertainment to a whole new level. MESA members are invited to Sid Gold’s Request Room for piano karaoke and networking.

• Wasabi hosts “How to Easily Implement Defense-in-Depth for Cloud Storage.” Defense-in-Depth is defined by NIST as “An information security strategy that integrates people, technology, and operations capabilities to establish variable barriers across multiple layers and missions of the organisation.” It is not as scary as it sounds, especially when it comes to implementing practical measures for a cloud storage service. In many cases, a breach in security is attributed to a momentary lapse in standard operating procedures or simple oversight. In this session we’ll discuss the need for defense-in-depth, the threats to our critical information, and some of the simplest, yet most powerful, steps to take to secure cloud storage.

• “Unleashing the Power of Zixi: The Most Cost Effective and Lowest Total Cost of Ownership in the Industry” will feature the CEO of Zixi. Gordon Brooks will detail how major global media organisations are achieving the lowest TCO in the industry with the Zixi Software-Defined Video Platform (SDVP®) and Zixi protocol-based deployments that are not only the most cost-effective solutions available, but also drastically improving sustainability. Sustainability initiatives are important to the media and entertainment industry, but especially effective when made to be financially attractive to adopt. Brooks will describe how these modern workflows are accelerating new content acquisition, new business models and opportunities to generate revenue.

Wednesday:

• Adobe presents “An Inside Look: How We Use Adobe Acrobat.” The world of business relies on PDFs to get daily work done. Knowing how to use PDFs skilfully accelerates project timelines and gives organisations a competitive edge. Adobe has become a global market leader in workflow productivity by using Adobe Acrobat to optimise document workflows across its own teams and departments. Join this webinar to discover how IT, Legal, Sales, and HR teams at Adobe use pioneering PDF best practices to speed up their business.

• Perforce hosts “Version Control for Creators: Integrating Helix DAM + Helix Core.” Join Johan Karlsson, Senior Product Manager at Perforce, and Chris Perez, Director of Product Marketing – Media & Gaming at Perforce, as they demonstrate the latest capabilities of Helix DAM. In this demo, they’ll cover how to connect to existing Helix Core projects and streams (a new release update). Johan and Chris will also walk you through how teams can take advantage of the scalability and security of version control across their creative and development projects.

• LucidLink and Wasabi will hold a networking reception for attendees of NAB Show New York.
