Michael Smiley has been in the IT and cyber security world for three decades. This experience has given him a wide perspective on trends in the cyber security industry, and on the ground insights that provide peers assistance with digital transformation projects. Starting his career as an engineer, he has performed roles cover Systems, Network, Business Development, Security, and Sales. He played a key role in stopping major attack campaigns for fortune 500 companies and government organizations, and pushing for better detection and mitigation efforts for data at rest and in flight against attacks in the cloud. Now he is leading teams of security specialists for Fortinet, who assist in driving customers initiatives to enable greater visibility and automation and of course security effectiveness.
