M+E Connections

MESA Member Webinar Week Ahead: April 16-21

Amazon Web Services (AWS) talks about next-generation firewalls, MicroStrategy continues its ANZ user connect series, and the MESA community converges on Las Vegas for the annual NAB Show.

Those are just a few of the events from the MESA community the week of April 16-21, according to MESA’s global member e-calendar.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead:

Sunday-Thursday:

• More than 50 MESA members will be represented in Las Vegas at the annual NAB Show, with the show celebrating its centennial year. Representatives from more than 160 countries outside the United States have registered to attend, and the NAB Show floor will feature some of the world’s leading brands and companies, as well as first-time exhibitors and innovation zones showcasing the most cutting-edge technology advancements for media and entertainment.

More than 1,000 companies, including 140-plus first-time exhibitors, will debut new products and offer first looks at trailblazing technologies through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations. Exhibitors are expected to occupy more than 575,000 net square feet of exhibits space organised by distinct destinations throughout the LVCC’s North, Central and West halls.

Monday:

• Since 2018, the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) has gathered the security community in Las Vegas during NAB for the Content Protection Summit, a half-day event of thought-leadership and technology solutions.

The Content Protection Summit at NAB (CPS@NAB) returns April 17 from 1-6 p.m. at the SAHARA Theatre, near the Las Vegas Convention Centre, with a new theme: “Connected Complexity: Securing the Evolving Entertainment Supply Chain.”

The afternoon of keynotes, panels and industry insights will examine the entire entertainment supply chain. From creatives driving innovation at the beginning of the process to the creatives at the end responsible for delivering to the world, the sheer number of interconnected systems and platforms, people process and technology, that form this chain is considerable. And to have the responsibility of securing different parts and pieces of this “process” from creatives through to business units is sometimes overwhelming.

CPS connects people as much as it enlightens the community about the future. The afternoon of presentations, panels, and conversations takes attendees through a security journey into areas we should all be considering as “next” and “critical” to the M+E industry.

Wednesday:

• Adobe hosts “Key Acrobat Workflows That Keep Every Department Moving.” Business runs on documents. The more efficient you are with those documents across the entire organisation, the better your business will perform. Join this April 19 webinar as Adobe shares real-world examples of smooth document workflows across departments — and how you can do more with less. You’ll learn about using Adobe Acrobat, the all-in-one PDF and e-signature solution, to combine multiple files into one polished PDF, collaborate on PDFs inside your Microsoft apps, and e-sign, add a watermark, and more.

• Perforce hosts “Accelerate Developer Velocity by Improving Sync Times.” Syncing large datasets is inevitable and can slow down your entire development process. Improving these sync times not only enables your team to iterate more but helps keep you in the creative zone — leading to innovative work. Perforce Director of Product Management Brent Schiestl provides a first look at Virtual File Service (P4VFS), an upcoming feature of Helix Core that enables you to quickly sync and easily access the latest files without long wait times.

Thursday:

• MicroStrategy hosts its latest session of the “ANZ User Connect Series.” Join their experts on every third Thursday of the month to expand your skills, learn, and collaborate with MicroStrategy users. They’ll be showcasing features that save time and effort, sharing the latest updates, and leading a live Q&A. This will be a reoccurring series, expected to be on the third Thursday of each month.

• AWS hosts “What is a Next-Generation Firewall (and Why Does it Matter)?” Hear security experts break down myths and realities of next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), how to use them, and how they boost your security posture.
