BB Media: 2023 Streaming Closes Year Up and Down

The last month of 2023 saw the debut of a slew of new streaming platforms, several on a global scale, according to media and entertainment data tracking firm BB Media.

Archery+, Newsmax+, SunnStream, Panea and Tucker Carlson Network all launched worldwide, while Venezuela saw two services new in its country, including Inter Go and Airtek TV. Meanwhile, Google Play Movies & TV and Pantaflix announced they would shutter, while GCN+, Lionsgate+, Oi Play, and Showtime Anytime bowed out before the end of the year.

FilminLatino and FITE had their names changed to Nuestro Cine Mx and TrillerTV, respectively, while Paramount+ expanded to Japan, and Disney+ and Star+ announced their merger in Latin America. MGM+ announced it would expand into Latin America as well, while Universal+ became available in Brazil.

Acorn+ and Oi Play also discontinued operations in Latin America.
