Industry Experts Examine Future of Dubbing at ITS Localisation

The dubbing industry was relatively untouched by technology for many years. That’s changed and continues to change. At the 29th Feb ITS Localisation event in London, a panel of localisation experts will examine what’s happened, and what’s next, in the discussion “The Future of Dubbing.”

The impact of the pandemic on dubbing is still reverberating, with voice artists equipped to work from home.  As AI dubbing technology becomes more pervasive the use of AI across the industry is leading to much debate, with technology and creativity set to meet head on. In this panel discussion speakers will explore both the traditional and the new approaches, and how the industry can meet in the middle.

Caroline Baines, senior director of client services for MESA, will moderate with speakers Yoram Chertok, chief strategic planning officer for Dubformer, Dieter Imme, dubbing and digital media manager for Fremantle, Volker Steinbiss, managing director of applications technology for AppTek GmbH, and Änne Troester, dubbing scriptwriter and board member of Synchronverband – German Dubbing Association.

ITS Localisation is the media and entertainment industry’s premiere localisation event, bringing together the industry’s top language service providers, content creators, artificial intelligence and machine learning companies, and network executives, to talk about the challenges facing media and entertainment, and share the latest solutions to meet them.

Attendees will hear from expert panellists and presenters who will be discussing the industry landscape following a tumultuous period, how artificial intelligence, voice technologies and machine learning are playing an ever more important role, and how the adoption of smart, targeted cloud-based solutions can help achieve greater workflow efficiencies.

ITS Localisation is presented by MESA in association with the Content Localisation Council and Smart Content Council, and sponsored by Dubformer, Iyuno, AppTek, EIDR, Blu Digital Group, OOONA and Papercup.
