IBM Security to Talk New Vendor Solutions on Main Stage at Oct. 20 M&E Day

Following the opening keynote by CNET founder Halsey Minor at the Oct. 20 Media & Entertainment Day — a live, worldwide virtual event, taking place during the all-new NAB Show New York digital experience — IBM Security CTO Jason Keirsted will take the stage, to share how vendors are adopting new — and effective —security programs today.

His presentation — “Open Security – From Patchwork to Platform” — will show how M&E organization security teams are keeping up with all the new technologies their companies are adopting.

And instead of trying to create an effective security program using a fragmented patchwork of solutions and data sources (which may or may not interoperate), some vendors are instead coming together to create an open-source platform, allowing security solutions to communicate over a standard fabric over the entire threat management lifecycle (covering threat hunting, analytics and detection, all the way through to incident response and orchestration).

Keirsted’s presentation kicks off a day of programing that will see 20 media and entertainment vendors share the latest advancements across every corner of the industry, including localization, cybersecurity, content protection, and cloud-enabled technologies.

Running from 12:30-5 p.m. ET, the M&E Day main stage programming also includes the panel “The Ripple Effect of The Ripple Effect,” where attendees will get an inside look at the Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California’s ([email protected]) latest project, “The Ripple Effect where technologists are developing revolutionary solutions in virtualizing environments, for both onscreen talent and onset crew.

And a second keynote address, “Across the Nation with Innovation Acceleration,” will have Shelton Mercer, chairman of The Mercer Advisory Group and Mercer Innovation, and co-founder of Audigent, TwitChange and the 20:20 Collective, walking attendees through the benefits of technology-fueled audience strategies.

Midway through the day, attendees will have a choice of 16 breakout session, across five programing tracks:
