David Wurgler began his career in anti-piracy in 1996. In 2002 he founded the Scandinavian TV Organization against Piracy, better known as STOP Nordic, and from 2012 Nordic Content Protection. He was the CEO for Nordic Content Protection until January 2016 when he joined NAGRA. He has worked closely with many right holders such as the Premier League, the Danish football league, the Swedish football league, the Norwegian football league, the Swedish hockey league, Discovery, Fox international, Sky UK, Sky Deutschland, Viasat/MTG, Eurosport, Canal+, TV 2 Norway, TV2 Denmark, Cmore and many more.
In 1998, 1999, 2000, 2006, 2008, 2013 and 2014 he led and managed lobby campaigns to change Danish, Swedish and Norwegian legislation on conditional access systems, IPR and enforcement.
He has overseen numerous press campaigns and has been interviewed to media in many European countries such as UK, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland etc. He has tried and participated in more than 1000 anti-piracy ligations and has been engaged as expert by authorities in all Nordic countries and EU. He has also helped EUIP and other external organizations as a speaker at many events all over Europe.
