Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS) Spring Returns May 12

The annual Hollywood Innovation and Transformation Summit (HITS) Spring event — the industry’s largest gathering of media and entertainment’s CIOs and top technology minds— will be held May 12.

Bringing together the IT, data and security communities of the industry, HITS Spring will be held as a fully virtual event, with an overall focus on how the industry is optimizing global IT for scale, and how the events of the last year have accelerated M&E’s march toward virtualized production. Attendees this year will be treated to the sidecar event, OTT Supply Chain Academy, which will feature an agenda covering the future of theatrical releases, a topic of crucial importance following a year that saw theatrical take a backseat to streaming releases.

HITS Spring will feature two hours of main-stage programming, as well as the popular HITS Innovation & Technology breakout session series, which will explore the industry’s biggest technology shifts, covering how traditional IT is impacting programming, productions, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) services.

From the ways IT is changing approaches to data gathering and learning, to ideas on how to maximize the value of new collaboration tools, this year’s HITS Spring program will have a global audience hearing from keynoters and panelists sharing how the past year has changed IT in the industry forever. Some of the agenda topics attendees will hear about:

• The New Stars of Hollywood IT: Diversified, Unified and Ready for a Post-Pandemic World
• Developing Teams, Services and Customers at Scale
• We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat: Surfing the Wave of Platform Integrations
• IT Intersection: Security Transforms the Enterprise
• Wrangling Ones and Zeros: The Wild Wild West of Virtualized Production
• Distributed Teamwork. It’s Not “When” It’s Now
• Navigating the New Norm of Content Discovery & Engagement

HITS Spring is programmed under the guidance of the Content Advisors of the Hollywood IT Society, and is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), in association with the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Smart Content Council. The event is presented by IBM Security with sponsorship by Genpact, Irdeto, Tata Consultancy Services, Convergent Risks, Equinix, MicroStrategy, Microsoft Azure, Richey May Technology Solutions, Tamr, Whip Media, 5th Kind, Eluvio, LucidLink, Salesforce, Signiant, Zendesk, EIDR and the Trusted Partner Network.
